Railing remodel, in douglas fir. There were at least two previous railings here before.

A little bit of a suprise when I went to install. What I assumed were 4x4 posts protruding from wall below turned out to be 2” square tube with 4” square flanges screwed to the floor. I almost remade my post trim, but instead just furred the steel tube out with 1x4.

As you can see, this railing is very visible from every angle. Only one piece hides. This made the design a little more challenging than it’d otherwise be.

Lastly, a fir entryway bench. Criteria for design: must be finished in one day.
